TONI FOXX

It was a teacher that changed my life. It was my junior year in high school & it was an English teacher that asked me if I’d be interested in going to a camp for journalism. I wasn’t even on the high school yearbook staff, but my teacher thought I was a good writer, so she pitched me on it. I thought it sounded fun & interesting, so off I went.

That camp at Ball State University changed everything. I remember interviewing a basketball player on the men’s team… a guy who was super tall but who had never even played basketball in high school before Ball State. But with his height, he was made for basketball. It was so fascinating & fun to hear his story and write about it. It was then & there I decided I had to go into journalism or broadcasting. I wanted to tell stories, stories about people, because I discovered that I loved it.

I turned my love of telling stories and entertaining people into a 35-year radio career… a career that took me all over the country. I started in Ohio, went to New Jersey, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Virginia, and finally to Jacksonville, Florida, where I found a home at WQIK, a country music radio station.

In my three decades in radio, I interviewed hundreds of people, thousands if you count listeners. It was my favorite part of the job. I loved finding out about country stars and asking them not just about their music, but about themselves. My goal was to make it seem like a conversation between friends that everyone listening got to be a part of.

For four years, I was also a TV host on, “The Chat,” a locally produced talk show in Jacksonville, hosted only by women, that focused on a variety of topics, including news, pop culture, lifestyle and entertainment. I loved that, too, and I loved being able to expand the type of people I interviewed on that show.

I have a passion for meeting and interviewing people. That’s why I have turned that passion into a way to help business owners create podcasts… podcasts to market your business, to tell YOUR story, to talk about YOUR passion that led you to do what you do. Let me help you tell your story. Let’s do a podcast and give your business a voice and help your business stand out from the crowd.
